This is an account of my training experiences leading up to the big day of The London Marathon 2011. Feel free to post your own comments, as I need all the help I can get!
About Me
Has been a hard week this week, left foot hurting slightly now, hopefully the anti-imflammatories will help with that as well. Last long run today before tapering down the distances until the big day! Found it difficult to get out of bed at 6am this morning as didn't sleep very well, I was ok once I started running and managed to do 23 miles at a slow / steady pace just to get the time on my feet. Tried some energy jelly blocks every 30 mins which seemed to help by increasing my energy. Although it did take about 15 mins to open the packet as I was running along but worth it in the end. Wierd though trying to run and eat at the same time !
Sunday 13th March 2011
Did 22 miles today, wasn't too bad although the last 2 miles were painful on my feet. Took an energy drink which seems help a little. Occaisional pain from old shin splints, anti-inflammatories are helping.
Wednesday 9th March 2011
I have been very ill with a stomach bug for a week so haven't done any running since 2nd March. Did a steady run for 5 miles tonight, felt ok. Usual gym tomorrow, 10 miles Friday then 22 miles Sunday.
Sunday 27th February 2011
Felt ok this past week, ran 22 miles today. Oh how 2 miles makes a big difference, I was very slow on the last 2 miles, my feet were extremely sore and my legs were doing their own thing towards the end!
Sunday 21st February 2011
Ran 20 miles today and took a different energy drink, felt run went well today, it took me 3:07.
Friday 18th February 2011
Has been very difficult getting myself motivated to go to the gym twice this week as well as running, 5 miles on Wednesday and 12 today. Think that run on Sunday took a lot out of me, ive been tired all week. Time to eat more carbs I think!
Sunday 13th February 2011
Ran 18 miles today, found it quite difficult towards the end. Tried an energy drink today, not sure if it really helped, just seemed to be thirstier.
